Choose from EBC plain non drilled UPR (Ultimax Plain Rotor) series OE spec non drilled rotors or EBC sport rotors in two choices - wide aperture 3GD series for cooler running or new SUPER SILENT Ultimax USR slotted series.
EBC manufacture many of its rotors in either its own sister company foundry in the UK or in Italy, all rotors are machined and finished in the UK and in the USA.
Where castings or finished rotors have to be bought in to complement the range, the strictest quality controls you can imagine are applied to ensure the safety and quality of the parts EBC sell. There are ZERO aftermarket casting companies active in the USA much to our regret. The castings EBC source come mostly from our sister foundry in the UK by a large margin, then some from Italy, some from Japan, some from Australia , some from the Czech Republic and some from China. EBC source QUALITY parts from well known and proven vendors and EBC are responsible for and guarantee those parts to fit and perform as expected.
EBC adds VALUE to its products by strictest quality controls and specifications and a 100% run out and dimensional check, plus ALL USA sport rotors are slotted at the Los Angeles facility of the USA operation. In times when everyone has run off to the Far East and many rotor suppliers are nothing more than brokerage houses , EBC has done its part in every way possible to maintain UK , European and US jobs.
EBC Automotive brake rotors are made from G3000 spec cast iron. All EBC Premium Discs are cast to a material strength of 150 N/m2 with a tightly controlled surface hardness variation less than 20 HB and are precision CNC machined to a surface tolerance of less than 0.05 mm. That is TWO THOUSANDTHS of an inch. For this reason EBC recommends a maximum runout of fitted rotors of 0.1 mm or .004 inches (4 thousandths) TIR which means total indicator reading on a dial gauge.
Runout figures above this will lead to vibration after 3000 to 4000 miles due to what EBC call disc thickness variation (wearing a thin spot on the high point of the rotor as it runs off-true) which is NOT a warranty condition.
So you see this is no cheap import brake disc. These brake discs have the highest integrity and product quality on the aftermarket. An OE quality replacement disc, made of the finest grade iron and a perfect replacement disc for any car.
EBC also emphasises that disc must be fitted to absolutely clean hubs free of all dust dirt rust and scale and that COPPER OR MOLY GREASES are NOT used. Such greases contains abrasive particles which can cause runout being similar in effect to dirt particles on your hub.
When replacing rotors it is essential to replace the brake pads. At any brake service the brake pads are as important as the new brake rotor and not replacingbrakes with all new components could result in a safety issue.
Slotted and drilled brake rotors for cooler brakes.
Manufactured using premium disc blanks, the unique wide aperture slots in the EBC sport rotor actually draw cool air under the pad during heavy braking and reduce brake temperatures whilst also helping remove dirt, dust and debris and gasses created by heavy braking from the pad contact area. They also improve braking in off road conditions of wet, mud or sand and as such are a great choice for 4x4 vehicles. Blind drilled holes eliminate the chance of rotor cracking which is common with “through drilled” or completely drilled vent holes.
Ultra quiet sport slotted brake rotors
Manufactured using premium disc blanks mentioned above, the narrower multi slot design of the Ultimax sport rotor and the progressive angle at which the slots are machined creates a quiet running sport rotor that still has benefits of removing gas, dirt, water and debris and MAINTAINING parallel pad wear.
EBC have always been honest enough to say that the biggest advantage of slotted rotors is the fact that they promote flat and parallel pad wear rather than allowing ridges to develop on pads and rotors which is typical of "drilled only" sport rotors. By preventing these ridges brakes stay more consistent throughout pad and rotor wear life (simple physics!).
